Evaluators are individuals or organizations, as they are generally referred to, that provide Evaluation services. There are generally two types of evaluators: internal and external evaluators. Internal evaluators are evaluators that work within an organization or group to evaluate program or projects. External evaluators are evaluators from outside an organization or group that evaluate programs or projects within it.

Below is a list of locations on the Internet where various evaluators can be located:

Independent Evaluators' Webring

The Independent Evaluators' Webring contains a searchable database of evaluators registered with them. The database can be searched by geographic country, type of evaluation, evaluation approach, field of evaluation, and category of clients.

Higher Education Center Evaluator Database

The Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention has put together a Higher Education Center Evaluator Database to serve as a resource by providing evaluators' contact information. Some evaluators in this database have listed themselves as available to evaluate programs outside of higher education contexts.

Registry of Outcome Evaluators

The Registry of Outcome Evaluators is located at the The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) website created by the Institute of Education Sciences of the U.S. Department of Education. Schools, school districts, and educational program developers can search a database of evaluators (individuals and organizations) who have responded to the WWC that they conduct studies on educational outcomes. Users can search the Registry by geographic region, content area, target population, and individual evaluators and/or organizations.

Contact information, resumes, and examples of project experience are listed for evaluators. All evaluators listed have signed a letter stating their commitment to use the WWC Evidence Standards. The information in the Registry of Outcome Evaluators is supplied solely by the evaluators themselves. Neither the What Works Clearinghouse nor the U.S. Department of Education endorses any individuals or organizations listed in the Registry. The Registry of Outcome Evaluators will continue to accept registrations for inclusion.
